TNDH Reference
Mapping Population
The OREGIN management team has adopted the "TN" doubled haploid (DH) mapping population as the reference population.
- Public domain population.
- Developed by Prof. Jinling Meng (Huazhong Agricultural University).
- 202 DH lines derived from Tapidor x Ningyou 7 (winter x semi-winter).
- 188 informative lines selected for OREGIN.
- Map published by Qiu et al. (2006) and Suwabe et al. (2008).
Availability:
DNA and seed (5 seeds/line) available on cost-recovery basis. Contact Graham Teakle. Signed MTA required.
TVSL Substitution
Line Population
Adopted as an additional resource for trait mapping, sharing the Tapidor parent with TNDH.
- Public domain population.
- Developed by UK breeders and Birmingham University.
- Derived from Tapidor (00, low erucic, low glucosinolate) x Victor.
- Comprises 75 lines plus both parents.
- Victor segments selected using RFLP markers.
Regeneration:
Recently regenerated by KWS-UK. Starter packs (0.5g seeds/line) available. Contact Graham Teakle.
New Populations
Genetic Diversity
Capture of wider genetic diversity through new segregating populations generated by OREGIN (2008-13).
Accumulated genotype and trait data for these mapping populations are collated to provide increased power of analysis.
Additional information is hostable through the CropStoreDB interface and the Brassica Information Portal.
Ongoing analysis identifies subsets (core sets of 50-100 lines) based on informativeness and trait tolerance.
